New Girl Scout Patch Programs
Schedule for 2014 - 2015
SOULE HOMESTEAD IS PROUD TO BE IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH
THE GIRL SCOUTS OF EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS!
Our traditional educational programs have been slightly modified to meet the needs of the girl scouts so they may fulfill the requirements of the Fun Patch. Participants will get a full ‘farmy’ experience no matter which patch program is chosen. We look forward to serving you!To register please call Dana at the Girl Scouts of Eastern MA at 774-766-6953
1: Get to the Root of It ~ Fun Patch (2 hours)
Learn to identify different plant parts, and understand what plants need to grow. Scouts will have an opportunity to plant or transplant a vegetable and plant seeds in a ‘rootviewer’ to take home. As a special treat they will card and spin the farms wool, making a bracelet to wear home as a souvenir. Fun Patch included.
Price: $11 per girl $3 per adult

2: Animal Meet & Greet ~ Fun Patch (2 hours)
Meet the farm animals and learn what products they provide us. Girls will card and spin their own bracelet from the farms sheep's wool and be treated to organic popcorn topped with butter the girls will help make during the program. Fun Patch included.
Price: $11 per girl $3 per adult

3: Sheep to Sweater ~ Fun Patch (1 1/2 hours)
Discover the journey wool takes as it travels from the sheep and is crafted into a sweater. Scouts will visit with Soule Homestead's flock of sheep and learn how they are cared for. Then they will learn to spin wool into yarn and make a bracelet to take home as a souvenir. Fun Patch included.

4: Farm to Fork ~ Fun Patch (2 hours)
Discover how you are connected to your food and the earth. Come along on a food adventure as we track the ingredients that make a pizza from farm to fork. Visit the two organic farms operating on the 120 acre Homestead. Plant or harvest as part of your farm to fork journey. Fun Patch included.
